Contractor Training

Technical Training Curriculum Duration: 3 hours
Course Objectives - As a result of this course, contractors will:

  • Have a basic knowledge of the program structure and its benefits to the customer (e.g. health & safety, HVAC equipment durability, comfort, and energy efficiency).
  • Know how to perform a duct test using duct pressurization equipment.
  • Know how to effectively locate duct system leaks.
  • Be familiar with common duct sealing techniques.
  • Know how to perform a Natural Gas Appliance Test (NGAT) and/or a secondary appliance flue test.
  • Be familiar with proper duct sealing materials (e.g., UL listed/labeled sealants, acceptable mechanical fasteners, duct board for sealing building cavities).
  • Know how to properly fill out the CF-6R form.
  • Have a detailed understanding of the Duct Sealing Incentive Program.

PG&E's Clearinghouse will keep track of contractors who have completed the approved training and are eligible to electronically submit Title 24 CF-6R application forms via Enalasys' eOne portal for the program incentive to be paid.
