Program Eligibility Requirements


Contractor Eligibility - updated 5/28/2010

  • Must have valid business license
  • Must have C-20 license or work under a HVAC business with a C-20 license in good standing with the CSLB

Customer Eligibility - DTS and RCA

The duct system with operating HVAC equipment must be located within customer's residence or small business. Duct systems that have had test and seal work or repair service that has been performed on the customer's duct system through any rate payer-funded program within the last six (6) years are not eligible.Residential and Commercial Customers must:

  • Have existing PG&E active electric meter service.
  • Residential customers must reside in the following Climate Zones: 2, 4, 11, 12, 13.
  • Commercial customers in any of the PG&E service area Climate Zones are eligible.
    (Climate Zones by Zipcode) or (Climate Zone Map)
  • Have an operable HVAC system or combination heat pump system at an eligible service address. Multiple systems at the same address are eligible.
  • Residential and small commercial equipment of less than 8 tons with multiple compressors and economizers are not eligible.
  • Large commercial equipment of 8 to 60 tons with multiple compressors and economizers are eligible. Large commercial customers not eligible for DTS.
  • Reside in either an existing: single family detached home, duplex, tri-plex or duplex, apartment or condominium building or mobile home. Commercial customers must own, lease or manage existing commercial facilities. New construction not eligible.
