2010 PG&E HVAC Duct Sealing
Incentive & Rebate Program
EFFECTIVE MARCH 1, 2010 - updated 5/28/2010
Energy Efficiency Incentives for Residential and Commercial Customers
On October 15, 2006, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) introduced a HVAC Duct Testing and Sealing Incentive Program (DTS) for both the HVAC Contractor and the PG&E residential and small business Customer. Since then, the program has been expanded to include contractor incentives to perform Air Conditioner/Heat Pump Refrigerant Charge and Airflow (RCA) incentives on residential and commercial equipment up to 60 tons.
This program has been renamed in 2010 and is now called the Quality Installation and Quality Maintenance Program (QI and QM, respectively). Although the same services are provided the focus of this program is quality and comprehensive services during the installation of replacement high efficiency equipment or the maintenance of existing equipment.
'QI' is defined as having the proper refrigerant level and the optimum airflow in addition to the reducing duct leakage below 15% of the total fan flow during the installation of new replacement equipment and 'QM' is the identical results achieved during the maintenance of existing equipment. Over the coming years, the utilities will introduce additional 'QI' and 'QM' measures with incentives to encourage even more comprehensive quality services. As in previous programs, the 2010 PG&E QI and QM program allows TWO different types of data collection and submittal processes:
- Wireless / Automated (WIRELESS/AUTO) for contractors choosing to utilize a wireless processes to automatically record DTS, RCA, other program data and upload onto the Enalasys eOne Platform
- Manual Entry (ME) for contractors choosing to record their DTS data points by entering the numbers into the eOne Platform by hand.
NOTE: The DTS REBATE amount (sent directly from PG&E to the customer) is the same for either process.
NOTE: RCA data can only be uploaded via the Enalasys ChargeRite automated system
