The Duct Sealing (DTS) Incentive is provided if the final duct leakage is reduced below 15% during the Quality Installation (QI) of replacement equipment of 13 SEER/11 EER or greater or during the Quality Maintenance (QM) of existing equipment of any SEER and EER rating.

The Refrigerant Charge and Airflow (RCA) incentive is provided when the refrigerant is adjusted properly and system airflow is optimized during the QI of replacement equipment of 13 SEER/ 11 EER or greater or during the QM of existing equipment of any SEER and EER. Additional Equipment System requirements:

Residential system must:

  • Be equal to or greater than 1.5 tons and equal to or less than 8.0 tons without multiple compressors or economizers.
  • Have an hourly cooling capacity of 84,000 Btu or less.

Business system must:

  • Be equal to or greater than 1.5 tons and equal to or less than 60.0 tons with multiple compressors or economizers for RCA only.
  • Be equal to or greater than 1.5 tons and equal to or less than 8.0 tons without multiple compressors or economizers for RCA and DTS.

Note: An NGAT test must be performed, if applicable, for any duct work repair, retro-fit, or new installations.

Pre-test and post-test leakage thresholds

  • Pre-test and post-test leakage thresholds
  • Pre-test duct leakage must be greater than 15% of the calculated fan flow and in need of repairs in order to be eligible for the post-test incentive
  • Incentives will be limited to a maximum of 40% of pre-test only being paid to the Contractor.
  • Post-test duct leakage must be reduced to less than 15% of the calculated fan flow.

(If reduction level is not met, no post-test incentive will be paid.)
